Significant success for our arbitration – litigation team. Annulment of a domestic arbitral award.

Our arbitration – litigation team succeeded in annulling a domestic arbitral award as contrary to public policy, an annulment ground only rarely accepted by State Courts. Said award had adjudicated more than € 10 million against the client of ours, a major group of contractors, as agreed penalty for not adhering to specific contractual obligations undertaken vis a vis another contractors pertaining to a pending public procurement. The Court of Appeals in Athens accepted our position that the contractual clauses allegedly violated were invalid to begin with, since they ran afoul of fundamental principles of European procurement law.
