Biography

Dr. Sotiris Dempegiotis is a Partner of the Firm and Deputy Head of its International Arbitration Practice Group.

He holds a Ph.D. (summa cum laude) in international commercial arbitration from the Law School of the University of Athens; a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of London – International School of Arbitration, Queen Mary; and a Law Degree from the Law School of the University of Athens.

Sotiris is a Supreme Court advocate and one of the leading commercial arbitration specialists in Greece. He regularly represents clients in arbitration proceedings under a variety of arbitration rules and applicable laws. He also represents clients in arbitration-related court proceedings and sits as arbitrator.

Sotiris has handled numerous complex and high-stake disputes before arbitral tribunals and state courts across a variety of sectors and markets. The scope of his practice includes concessions and construction, M&A and sales contracts, energy, defence and offset programs, gaming, joint ventures and industrial cooperation, agency and distribution, licensing, and finance related disputes.

Sotiris regularly publishes on international and domestic commercial arbitration and is a member of the Arbitration Committee of ICC Greece.
