Article 14, para.4 of Law 3557/2007: Presidential Decree 219/1991 on commercial agents now equally applies to exclusive distribution agreements

According to this recent amendment, Presidential Decree 219/1991 on commercial agents shall now equally apply to exclusive distributors. The said amendment has come to reflect recent case law by the Greek Supreme Court (Decision no 139/2006) and to finally settle a matter that had created major controversy among national courts and scholars in the past. Thus, all provisions of Presidential Decree 219/1991 as in force, now apply to (a) agency agreements of rendering services, and (b) exclusive distribution agreements, where essentially the distributor is considered part of the commercial organization of the supplier.
