As every year, our law firm attended the 9th annual conference on New Developments In International Commercial Arbitration, organized by the CEMAJ (Research Center on Alternative and Judicial Dispute Resolution Methods) of the University of Neuchâtel Faculty of Law, held in Neuchâtel (Switzerland) on 11 November 2016.
Ass. Prof. Dr. Christian P. Filios, Partner and Att. Ioanna N. Vergeti LL.M., Senior Associate participated in this year’s conference on behalf of our law firm.
Among participants in the conference were academics, arbitration practitioners and counsels from different fields of the industry.
The issues addressed this year by highly qualified and experienced arbitration practitioners and academics included the issue of corruption in arbitration focusing on the arbitrator’s duty to investigate, contractual issues arising from the arbitration agreement and the receptum arbitri, the topic of expert witnesses focusing on party-appointed experts in international arbitration, recent case law of the Swiss Federal Supreme Court and the recent decision of the German Federal Supreme Court on the Pechstein case.
