We are very pleased to share that Dr. Ziakas Evangelos, Associate at Calavros Law Firm, participated in the Greek-German Congress on “New developments in the field of commercial, labour and procedural law” held on September 27th and 28th, 2023 in German. The Congress was organized by the Law Faculties of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the University of Leipzig and took place at the amphitheatre “Alkis Argyriadis” of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Dr. Ziakas addressed the topic of international jurisdiction of member states in cases of online torts according to the Brussels Ia recast Regulation, focusing on the shifts in the European case law with regard to specific areas of law, namely personality rights and intellectual property, while in the parallel underlining the modern challenge of localizing the centre of interest of legal persons, and in particular groups of companies.
